Shirley Schmidt joins the cast as a founding partner of the firm – and former lover of Denny Crane – who lends zeal to a suit against the U.S. over its foreign policy in Sudan. Elsewhere, an apparent matricide embroils Shore with a client who's clearly over the edge.
