Tara Summers (born December 19, 1979 in London, England) is an English actress who appears as Katie Lloyd, an attorney and associate with Crane, Poole & Schmidt Law on Boston Legal in Seasons 4 and 5.
Early life and educationEdit
The granddaughter of bridge player Fritzi Gordon, Tara was educated at Heathfield St Mary's School, in Berkshire, England. An alumna of Brown University (class '01), where she graduated with a B.A. in history; the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (class '03); and the National Theatre Institute.
Summers has written and starred in her own one-woman theatrical show, Gypsy of Chelsea. The play is the story of her own childhood, charting her mother's turbulent journey from cocaine addiction to recovery.
In 2007 and 2008, Summers starred as Katie Lloyd on Boston Legal, for which she was nominated, with her cast-mates, for a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award in the category of Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series in 2008 and again in 2009.
More recently, Summers starred as the director in the video for Snow Patrol's new single "Called Out in the Dark", released on YouTube on 17 August 2011, alongside Jack Davenport and Gary Lightbody. She also appeared in the first half of the first season of The CW's new mystery drama series Ringer.
